GianCarlo Montebello, renowned Milanese designer, began his career in 1964 by collaborating with Dino Gavina and Maria Simoncini. Three years later, together with his wife Teresa Pomodoro, he founded CEM-Montebello, a workshop specialized in the processing of precious metals, dedicating himself to creating artist jewelry in collaboration with prominent figures in the art world, including Lucio Fontana, Alighiero Boetti, Arman, Man Ray, and Niki de Saint Phalle.
In 1978, Montebello focused on his work as a designer, later naming it B.O., short for "Body Ornaments," creating true "body ornaments."
In the mid-1980s, he participated in the establishment of the Jewelry Department at the Istituto Europeo del Design in Milan, where he taught Drawing and Construction Techniques.
His works have been exhibited in prestigious international exhibitions, including "The Italian Metamorphosis" (1943 - 1994) at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and "Jewelry in Europe and America: New Times, New Thinking" (1996) at the Crafts Council Gallery in London.
